West End Day School (WEDS) serves bright, curious students in Grades 1–8 who benefit from a small, nurturing environment that combines strong academics with exceptional social-emotional support.
Our students may experience challenges with anxiety, ADHD, executive functioning, 2E, or social-emotional development that make traditional school settings difficult to navigate. At WEDS, they find a team that understands how learning and feelings are connected—and how the right environment can help children rediscover confidence, resilience, and joy in school.

WEDS is More Than a School. We combine strong, customized academics with a deep understanding of how feelings and learning are connected. Our counselors, teachers, and specialists collaborate closely to help students develop confidence, resilience, and a renewed love of learning. Our small size, warm culture, and individualized approach allow us to truly know each child—and to meet them where they are while challenging them to reach higher than they thought possible.
Class sizes typically range from 8 to 12 students, depending on the grade.
Each classroom has both a head teacher and an associate teacher, allowing for close attention to individual needs and a highly personalized learning experience. Middle School classrooms may look slightly different to reflect students’ growing independence.
Yes. WEDS integrates counseling and learning support into the school day. Many students also receive related services such as occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, or counseling—either through WEDS or in partnership with outside providers.
Social-emotional learning is woven into everything we do. Each student is supported by a dedicated counselor who meets with them weekly and remains a consistent presence throughout their WEDS journey. In tandem, classes regularly engage in lessons that build empathy, communication, and self-regulation. Our community celebrates progress, not perfection—helping students develop skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

Tuition encompasses all aspects of a West End Day School education, including customized instruction in small, nurturing classrooms. Tuition reflects our More Than a School approach and includes:
Weekly individual counseling sessions for every student
Weekly opportunities for parents to meet with their child’s counselor
Comprehensive executive functioning instruction and support embedded throughout the school day, along with speech-language and occupational therapy services tailored to each student’s needs and stage of development
As a small independent school, West End Day School is not able to offer financial aid. Depending on a child’s individual circumstances, some families may wish to consult with an educational advocate or attorney regarding available funding pathways, including the potential for tuition reimbursement under applicable law.
Our students transition to a wide range of next schools, including independent, mainstream, and specialized programs. The WEDS team works closely with families to identify environments where each student will continue to thrive, academically, emotionally, and socially.
