Welcome to West End Day School, a premiere private elementary school in New York City. For the last 40 years, students have been welcomed into our one-of-a-kind community where the focus is uniquely placed on nurturing, supporting, and challenging students so they are able to evolve into their best selves. We feel strongly that parents should not have to choose between providing a challenging academic setting or a nurturing and supportive one - so West End Day School strives to bring together the best of both.

Our special educational programs are tailored not only to children’s individual learning needs, but also their social-emotional needs. Our counseling program is based on an appreciation of the whole child and the origins of their stress, giving us a true understanding of who they are and what they need. This comprehension helps them better understand themselves, too. All of this ultimately creates a learning environment and experience like no other.

West End Day School has rolling admissions and we invite you to submit applications all year round.

We are thrilled to announce that West End Day School is expanding! Starting in the 2024-2025 school year, we will be accepting applications for our new 7th grade class, marking the beginning of our middle school program.

Our expansion to include 7th and 8th grades allows us to provide a seamless, customized education from 1st through 8th grade. Our unique approach supports social-emotional growth and academic excellence, ensuring every student thrives.
