Admissions & Application Process

West End Day School is More Than A School

What sets us apart from other special education schools in New York City is our individualized approach to each child. Here, we apply a social-emotional lens to our academic program because we know that how our students feel impacts how they learn. At West End Day School you can expect your child to grow and build resilience so they can learn to face challenges both within the safe haven of our school and beyond.

Upon receipt, your application will be reviewed by our Admissions Team. After review, you will be contacted by our Admissions Head who will let you know whether or not we think your child could be a fit for West End Day School. If so, we will talk with you about next steps and the best way for us to get to know your child better.

5. Your Child's Visit

Our admission process is highly individualized, thoughtful, and comprehensive. The initial visit will be tailored to the needs of your child. After that visit, we will work with you to come up with the appropriate next steps.

6. The Decision

Our Admissions Head will be in touch with you shortly after the visits to talk with you about our observations. We feel strongly that talking with you and providing feedback on your child’s visit is extremely important. We will discuss with you whether your child is a match and, if not, we may be able to make other recommendations.
