Our 2025 Spring Benefit Celebrated 40 Years of WEDS and Raised Funds for Our Next Chapter: A Middle School Built for MORE. 

We are deeply grateful to every family, faculty member, trustee, and friend who came together on May 15, 2025 to celebrate 40 years of West End Day School. Your presence, your spirit, and your support made the night unforgettable—and impactful. To support the transformation of our third floor and build a Middle School for MORE, we raised $205,000—the most in WEDS benefit history. We are blown away by the strength of our community.

Our 40th birthday was not the only milestone we marked. We were thrilled to honor Liza Gershen (aka Ms. Gershen!) for her 10 incredible years at West End Day School. In a decade of dedication, Liza has touched the lives of countless students and families with her insight, compassion, and unwavering belief in every child. She sees what makes each student shine—and helps them see it, too. Her work has shaped not just individual lives, but the spirit of our school.

A special thank you to parent Alice Garretti, who went so far above and beyond for WEDS—from the stunning transformation of our space, to the food, the cocktail carts, the beautiful outdoor areas, and the gorgeous birthday cake. Alice made our school feel like the most magical place in the world.

The night proved what we’ve always known: It’s not the size of the school that matters—it’s the strength of the community behind it.
