WEDS Celebrates 40 Years and Honors Liza Gershen at Spring Benefit

We are overflowing with gratitude for our incredible WEDS community, which showed up in such a big and beautiful way to celebrate our 40th Anniversary Spring Benefit. 

Together, we honored all that makes West End Day School the extraordinary place it is—for students, families, and staff—and looked ahead to an even brighter future with the launch of our Middle School Built for MORE. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we surpassed our fundraising goal, and this summer we’ll begin transforming our third floor into a vibrant, collaborative middle school space. Our students deserve nothing less.

But our 40th birthday was not the only milestone we marked. We were thrilled to honor Liza Gershen (aka Ms. Gershen!) for her 10 incredible years at West End Day School. In a decade of dedication, Liza has touched the lives of countless students and families with her insight, compassion, and unwavering belief in every child. She sees what makes each student shine—and helps them see it, too. Her work has shaped not just individual lives, but the spirit of our school.

The love in the room was undeniable. The cheers, the hugs, the standing ovation…it was all a beautiful reminder of just how deeply Liza is cherished by this community.

Finally, huge thanks to WEDS parent Alice, and her phenomenal team at Acquolina Catering, for setting a stunning scene for our celebration. She turned our school into an unforgettable venue, complete with glowing cocktail carts, open-air bars, and a food experience that was as gorgeous as it was delicious. Every bite, every detail—perfection.
